Effective October 5, 2026. Institute of Human Anatomy, LLC.

IOHA Daily is a daily anatomy game and study tool from the Institute of Human Anatomy. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the game and your subscription, we never sell it, and there are no ads.

What we collect

  • Email address. Only if you sign in. Sign-in is by a 4-digit code (and a one-tap link) sent to your email; there is no password. Playing the daily game does not need an account.
  • Display name. A name you choose for the leaderboards, shown to other players. New accounts don't get one made up from their email; until you pick one, the leaderboards show a placeholder such as “Anatomist 482113”. Older accounts were given the part of the email address before the @ as a starting name; the leaderboards show the placeholder instead of it until you choose a name on the You tab.
  • Game progress. Which days you played, whether you answered correctly, and your streaks. Without an account this stays on your device. With an account it is synced to our servers so it follows you across devices and appears on the leaderboards.
  • Subscription status. If you subscribe to Study Mode Premium, Apple, Google or Stripe tells us whether the subscription is active and when the paid period ends. We receive a transaction or customer reference, never your card details. A subscription bought in the app while signed out is kept on your device until you sign in; on iPhone it is checked with Apple through our server using only its transaction and product IDs.
  • Notification token. Only if you allow notifications. Apple or Google issues a token that identifies your copy of the app, and we store it against your account so account notices can reach that device. It is removed when you sign out or delete your account, and it cannot be used to identify you anywhere else.
  • Support requests. Only if you send one with Help & feedback on the You tab. We keep the topic and message you write, the email address to reply to (your account's, when you are signed in, along with your account number), and, if you leave “include device info” on, the app version, platform and operating system version (on the website, your browser's user-agent string) shown to you before you send. It is stored in our database and emailed to our support inbox so we can answer you.
  • Usage analytics. To see how the game is used (how many people play each day, where they get stuck), the app and website record what you do in the game: screens opened, answers, sign-in and purchase steps started or completed, and your answers to the optional “why do you play” and level questions. Each event carries a random install identifier and a visit identifier, and, while you are signed in, your account number. They are used only for our own product analytics, never for advertising, and are kept for up to 90 days.
  • Technical logs. Standard server logs (request time, app version, errors) used to keep the service running. Your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated sign-in emails and support requests; it is not stored with your account or your request.

What we do not collect

  • No location, contacts, microphone or camera. The app only writes to your photo library if you choose Save Image when sharing a result.
  • No advertising identifiers and no third-party ad networks.
  • No health data. The app teaches anatomy; it does not record anything about your body.

How we use it

To run the game, keep your progress, show the leaderboards, unlock Study Mode Premium for subscribers, send the sign-in code you asked for, answer your support requests, understand which parts of the game work, and fix problems. That is the whole list. We do not use your data for marketing unless you separately opt in, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Who else sees it

  • Apple and Google process in-app subscription payments under their own privacy policies.
  • Stripe processes subscriptions bought on iohadaily.com under its own privacy policy.
  • Microsoft Azure hosts our servers, database and analytics, delivers sign-in and support emails, and relays notifications to Apple's and Google's push services.
  • Targun Tech LLC builds and runs IOHA Daily for the Institute and answers support requests.
  • YouTube videos open from a card; from that point YouTube's policy applies.

These providers act on our instructions to run the service. Beyond that we share data only if the law requires it.

Your choices

  • Play without an account. The daily game works signed out. Progress then lives only on your device.
  • Change your display name any time from the You tab.
  • Turn reminders off with the Daily reminder switch on the You tab, or turn notifications off in your device settings. The daily reminder is scheduled on your phone, so switching it off stops it straight away.
  • Cancel a subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings, or with Manage billing on iohadaily.com for a web subscription. Cancelling stops renewal; access continues to the end of the paid period.
  • Delete your account with Delete account under Account on the You tab (shown when you are signed in). Your account, email address, synced progress, leaderboard entries, notifications, device tokens and support requests (those sent while signed in, and those sent signed out from the same email address) are deleted immediately. A web subscription is cancelled at the same time; Stripe keeps its billing record of it (including the email it was billed to) under its own policy. An App Store or Google Play subscription is not, so cancel it there first. Apple's purchase notices, which the store requires for its accounting, are kept with your account details removed. You can also email us to delete it for you.

Retention

Account data is kept while the account exists and deleted when you delete the account. Support requests are kept while we deal with them and afterwards as a record of what was asked, until you delete your account or ask us to delete them; the copy in our support inbox is ordinary email, and we delete it too if you ask. Server logs and usage analytics are kept for up to 90 days, including after an account is deleted.

Children

IOHA Daily is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the effective date here and, for account holders, mention it in the app.

Contact

Questions or deletion requests: use Help & feedback on the You tab, or email support@targuntech.com. Support is answered by Targun Tech, who run IOHA Daily for the Institute.
